Welcome

Hello, my name is Katie.

I'm a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor (MA), I have been working with clients in a range of settings since 2018.

Based in Sheffield, I offer a confidential and supportive environment where all thoughts and feelings can be explored freely, safely and without judgement.

People come to therapy for a variety of reasons, I have experience working with anxiety, depression, confidence issues or low self-esteem, bereavement, loss, trauma, identity confusion, relationship issues, disconnection and loneliness.

Whatever your reason for being here, therapy can be helpful for exploring yourself and your way of being. It can shine light on why familiar ways of coping may no longer be effective, and it can help develop different perspectives and momentum to move forward in a new way.

About Therapy

Coming to therapy, especially for the first time, can feel daunting. I aim to provide a space for all thoughts and feelings to be explored freely, safely, and without judgement. I’m here to listen and to create space, facilitating a supportive environment where you can get to know yourself deeply.

Everyone goes through difficult times in life, but sometimes our familiar ways of coping become less effective and we can find ourselves stuck in a rut, feeling, thinking, and acting in ways that have become unmanageable or overwhelming. Therapy can be helpful for exploring why old patterns aren’t serving us anymore and it can help us develop new ways to carry ourselves forward.

I’m an integrative relational therapist which means I draw on a number of approaches in my work. I can help you explore childhood roots and family history, alongside relationships in your life currently. I encourage reflection on the relationships you have with the different parts of yourself, and the one between us. I’m interested in the relationship you have with the world around you, where you find yourself culturally and how you feel about your place in the world.

I work from a trauma-informed perspective which means that therapy will be steadily paced. I’m always curious and mindful about how the things we explore in sessions feel and are embodied in the here-and-now for you. I endeavour to facilitate an environment where sameness and difference can be safely explored, and it is my intention to work from an anti-discriminatory position.

About Me

I have a MA and Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling. I trained at The Minster Centre, in London, one of Europe’s leading psychotherapy training institutions. I have been working with clients since 2018, across low-cost and charity settings, as well as in private practice.

During my training I was particularly drawn to trauma informed practice, and remain particularly interested in understanding the connection and disconnection we can all have between parts of our bodies and parts of our minds. I work to understand and enquire into these parts of psyche and soma, building awareness and guiding each of them into the light so that we might shift our perspective and come to see ourselves more fully and more wholly.

I am a registered member of the BACP and hold a full clinical membership with the UKCP.

I have experience working with the following issues:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Anger

  • Trauma and dissociation

  • Trouble with self-care

  • Self-esteem and self-confidence

  • Impacts of a traumatic childhood

  • Impacts of growing up around addiction

  • Bereavement, Loss and Grief

  • Loneliness

  • Relationship Difficulties

  • Work and study related stress
